This is the new arts high school built by the Los Angeles Unified School District.
Isn’t it…something?
Guess how much it cost to build?
a) $90 million
b) $150 million
c) $232 million
Keep in mind that the state of California is in the midst of a severe budget crisis. LAUSD teachers are being furloughed, summer school has been canceled, classrooms are overcrowded, older schools are in disrepair. So maybe this wasn’t the best way to spend $232m.
The most disappointing thing: that tower does not, in fact, include a water slide.
